Facilitating our philosophy of ‘a healthy body is a healthy mind’, The Football FaktoryTM is excited to extend our team with a new member who will be dedicated to communicate and answer queries to parents about their children's nutrition. In our endeavour to develop children in the complete sense of the word, our nutritionist Shruti Pradhan will play a key role in helping us ensure that our students are well equipped with the necessary tools to help them cope with the physical requirement of the Game.


For a child finding himself/herself on the higher end of the weighing scale to one at the lower end, The Footbal FaktoryTM presents parents with a solution to their queries and concerns regarding their child's nutrition.

Shruti Pradhan is a passionate sports enthusiast, having played lots of sports in her school and college days and having represented the country in mini national basketball championships and states in junior nationals.


Being a doctors daughter and a fitness freak, nutrition and the science behind it, always fascinated her. She did her graduation in hospitality management  from UK and worked for one of the best brands in hospitality in the country for several years. Pursuing nutrition and dietics as a subject was in the endeavour to create awareness and healthy eating habits in children and adults around her. She is also a freelance trainer – doing trainings for various hotels and corporate and conducting awareness workshops for people to understand the basis of a healthy life. She firmly believes in eating right and supplementing what is not available to bridge that gap. At The Football FaktoryTM we are committed to the development of grassroots of football in India and this step is one step forward towards reaching our goal.  We wish Shruti a wonderful experience working with our team.

Welcome to the world of Nutrition. This space will be your constant companion on information regarding nutrition. We will start with the basics and grow to know more facts, trivia & information as we go along.


Nutrition – As the word stands –  is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food (e.g. phytonutrients, tannins, etc.) in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism.


The food we eat or our diet is dependent on climate, geographical location and several other factors. However a healthy diet is completely in our control. No food is unhealthy if consumed in the right form and at the right time. Nature has an amazing ability to know what is right for us, should we choose to pay head to it.


Broad guidelines for healthy food –


  • Raw (as close to its naturally occurring form as digestable),
  • Fresh (consumed with minimum delay from the time it was plucked),
  • Complete fruit/vegetable (i.e whole fruit/ vegetable is better than juice/ fruits with skin are better than without/ orange with the fiber is better than the inner white skin removed)
  • Steamed/blanched/stir fried/grilled/baked instead of boiled/deep fried
  • Not processed. Anything out of a jar or can is loaded with other preservatives and chemicals which aren’t good for our health.
  • The right mix of all the major food groups – Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins & minerals.
  • Not to forget water & fiber.
